The newly launched Z VSD+ oil-free twin permanent magnet (PM) variable speed drive (VSD) screw compressor represents a breakthrough in Atlas Copco’s oil-free screw technology. It is built around four core pillars: Efficiency, Sustainability, Intelligence, and Quality.

With a power range of 75 kW to 160 kW, the Z VSD+ is ideally suited for industries that demand 100% oil-free air, such as electronics, textiles, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and food & beverage. It can also be integrated with fixed-speed screw compressors to create a highly energy-efficient compressed air system.

✅ Efficiency (效)

The Z VSD+ series delivers 100% oil-free air, leveraging Atlas Copco’s newly developed high-efficiency rotors and IE5 ultra-premium efficiency motors. Combined with intelligent pressure ratio distribution control, this results in a significant boost in energy efficiency, making it one of the most energy-efficient oil-free models in Atlas Copco’s lineup.

🌱 Sustainability (绿)

Through advanced hardware and smart control systems, the Z VSD+ achieves up to 11% energy savings compared to previous generations of VSD oil-free screw compressors (based on lifecycle comparisons). For example, a ZR160VSD+ unit can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 52 tons annually.

Additionally, ZR VSD+ models feature full energy recovery systems, capable of recovering 100% of the heat generated during compression for hot water or steam production. A single ZR160VSD+ can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 460 tons per year through thermal recovery.

🧠 Intelligence (智)

Equipped with a two-stage compression system and the latest VSD control technology, the Z VSD+ operates efficiently across a wide pressure range from 3.5 to 10.4 bar. The MKVS controller automatically adjusts the speed and pressure ratio of each compression stage, ensuring optimal compression performance, reliable operation, and maximum efficiency across the full flow range.

Integrated SmartLink connectivity enables wireless remote monitoring and alarm alerts, allowing users to manage and track compressor performance in real time—from anywhere in the world.

🛡 Quality (质)

Built with components from globally recognized suppliers, the Z VSD+ has undergone over a year of durability and endurance testing before market release, ensuring long-term reliability. The standard model is suitable for ambient temperatures up to 50°C, and customized versions can operate in environments up to 55°C, meeting the demands of even the harshest applications.
